Too many families across our islands are working harder than ever while wondering if opportunity, stability, and a future for the next generation will still exist here at home. We believe the CNMI deserves better — and we believe the CNMI deserves a future worth staying for.

This campaign is built on strength, courage, and patience:

The strength to face our challenges honestly, the courage to make difficult decisions, and the patience to rebuild the right way for generations to come.

We are committed to steady leadership, real accountability, and a roadmap the public can follow, track, and help shape together.

Meet the Candidates

Dr. Lawrence F. Camacho — Candidate for Governor

Lawrence Camacho is a son of Saipan. He attended San Roque Elementary, Hopwood Junior High, and Marianas High School before leaving home to serve — and eventually keeping his promise to come back.

He retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel after more than 21 years of service, including deployments to Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, South Korea, and Egypt. He earned two Bronze Star Medals and the Combat Action Badge.

After the military, he served as a dean at the University of Guam before returning to the CNMI as Commissioner of Education — leading 20 schools and 10 Head Start centers across Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, serving more than 9,000 students and families.

He is a devoted husband to Gina, father to Vince, GJ, and Tammy, and grandfather to Everleigh and Sienna. He never forgot where he came from — and he’s running to make sure these islands are never left out of the conversation again.

Edith E. DeLeon Guerrero — Candidate for Lieutenant Governor

Edith DeLeon Guerrero has spent decades building the kind of credibility that can’t be borrowed — through banking, insurance, workforce development, and government leadership.

She served as Executive Director of the Workforce Investment Act program, connecting CNMI residents to job training and opportunity. She was appointed Secretary of Labor in 2013 and chaired the Governor’s Workforce Transition Task Force. She participated in two Section 902 consultations between the CNMI and the federal government.

In 2021, she was elected Senator for the Third Senatorial District, and in 2023, she made history as the first female Senate President in CNMI legislative history.

She is a daughter of these islands, and she leads from the details — not from a distance.
